"I have made a decision. I will no longer debate the issue of homosexuality in the church with anyone. I will no longer engage the biblical ignorance that emanates from so many right-wing Christians about how the Bible condemns homosexuality, as if that point of view still has any credibility. I will no longer discuss with them or listen to them tell me how homosexuality is “an abomination to God,” about how homosexuality is a “chosen lifestyle,” or about how through prayer and “spiritual counseling” homosexual persons can be “cured.” Those arguments are no longer worthy of my time or energy."

Halloween 2008. Silent Hill nurse! (click for full costume)
This is the costume I’m most proud of so far. Made the mask from scratch and the dress from an xl men’s shirt. Flash washed everything out so you can’t see the full grossness… I would make it really disgusting if I ever did it again (I thought it would be a good con costume except for the issue of hardly being able to see).
I’m hoping to outdo this costume this year.

Halloween 2007. Our makeup is a little smeared/faded since these were taken around the end of the night.
Poison Ivy was my first attempt at making a corset… did not go so well (and thus it was also my only attempt so far). Not terribly happy with how this turned out. I may someday redo this costume because I could make it ten times better and I wouldn’t be rushed due to school.
I was fairly pleased with Two Face considering how quickly I threw this together, but if I could do it again I’d take the time to do it well.

folkinz:

watch are you afraid of the dark online i’ve wanted to re-watch some of the episodes and i found all seven seasons compiled here in various formats.
for anyone not familiar with the show…here’s a synopsis:

Are You Afraid of the Dark? revolves around a group of teenagers who refer to themselves as “The Midnight Society”. Every week, at a secret location in the woods, one member would tell a scary story to the group. The themes of the stories usually revolve around a variety of paranormal phenomena such as ghosts, goblins, magic, haunted houses, magical curses, aliens, witches and the like coming into contact with normal teenagers. Sources of these tales vary in different ways; many are adaptations of fairytales, short stories and urban legends. For example, “The Tale of the Twisted Claw” is considered to be an adaptation of W.W. Jacobs’ legendary short story, “The Monkey’s Paw”.

this show is responsible for me being afraid of indoor swimming pools to this very day. i’d be willing to bet cash money that yes, i am still afraid of the dark. (i might re-watch for thrills anyway!)

I didn’t know this show played outside of Canada!
Fun fact: Ross Hull, the actor who played Gary, was on the Canadian Weather Network until last year. He’s apparently a reporter in Calgary now.
I realized this after meeting him briefly when he came to a play at my highschool (for some reason) that I was doing tickets for, figuring out he was from a couple YTV shows I’d seen before… and then seeing him on the Weather Network later on.
